4 Days East Sinai Trek
This tour is designed for those who want to explore the pure desert, like in old times! You will be driving in a car just to get in and out of the desert. The rest of the tour you will be accompanied, except for your guide, by Bedouins, who will be with us during the whole time, so that we will have the chance for a direct and personal encounter with the Bedouins and their special way of life. Each one of us will have his own camel, on which we will ride part of the time, and where the sites are not accessable by camel, we will hike. Sleeping will be in the open, just like the Bedouins, and you will have a Full Board, with western-standard meals cooked in Bedouin style!
Day 1:
Pick up in Eilat, and crossing the Israel-Egyptian Border at Taba. You will be assisted with all the Border formalities. A car will take you along the beaches of the Red Sea to the entrance to Wadi Malcha, where we will meet our Bedouins & Camels. Ride through the canyon of Wadi Malcha-al-Rayan and then walk to the small oasis Moyet Malcha. From here we hike on some secret smugglers trails to Frei'a, a "magical" valley, embedded with colorful sandstone, where we also spend the night.
Day 2:
We start the day hiking up the steep Naqb Kuhul ("The Cayal Ascent) which leads us towards "The Colored Canyon" – one of the most famous hiking trails in the Sinai. We will hike it the "trekkers" way and continue through the landscapes of ever-changing colors and shapes, through Ras el Abrak, to the amall oasis Bir el Biriya. Camp in Bir el Biriya.
Day 3:
We hike through the colorfull "Arch Canyon" – called after the most famous structure shaped by the wind. Our hike continues now in a landscape of sand dunes, and short time after crossing the Wadi Watir road, we reach Bir Sawra, once a center for the local Bedouins, where we make our lunch break. From here we continue riding over the "Naqb Sand" pass and on to our night camp near the well Bir Savana.
Day 4:
We continue riding through Wadi Savana. After passing over the Ras el Galb-pass we reach the great Oasis Ein Umm Achmed. After a last lunch with the Bedouins, we will board a jeep that will take us on some desert-tracks back to the main road. Time permitting, we can stop by one of the beaches of the Red Sea, before we cross the border back to Israel.
