Day 01
10:00 – we leave the hotel in Eilat, northwards bound, on the Arava Road. After a short drive we get off-the-beaten-track to watch the Flamingo Birds in the Avrona Pools. We also visit the Avrona Farm, dating back to the early Arab Period, where people, through a very sophisticated method called "Fuggaras" (Chain-wells) managed to grow hundreds of acres of fruits & vegetables in the middle of the desert!
We continue along the Arava valley, on Israel's longest road, and drive on the newly paved "Peace Road" along the Jordanian Border, looking at the modern agriculture that made the desert bloom, and the very special relations between the two countries in the past & present. In the afternoon we drive to the Mamshit farm, where we will spend the night in a Bedouin-style tent.
19:00 – "Chafla" – Bedouin-style dinner in the tent.
Day 02
09:30 – After breakfast, we drive to the antiquities of Mamshit, once a flourishing Nabathean city on the Incense Road from Arabia to Rome.
13:00 – 1 hour guided ride on Camels, like the Nabatheans long time ago… After the ride we return to the tent, to experience the traditional Bedouin Hospitality, with the coffee-preparation ceremony, that hasn't changed much since the time of Abraham… (Lunch not included).
In the afternoon we drive on to the first Hebrew city - Tel Aviv. Have a look at this modern, pulsating city, Israel's cultural and commercial center, and stroll through the alley-ways of Old Jaffa, where many artists exhibit their work, done with the inspiration of it's ancient Mediterranean atmosphere.
