3 Days VIP Desert Program from Eilat to Jerusalem

Day 1:

The first day of the Desert Trip will take us along the most interesting part of the famous "Incense Road", where millenniums ago heavily loaded caravans made their way with the expensive merchandise from the mysterious city of Petra to the port of Gaza. After a drive of approx. 1.5 hours, we will leave the paved road and drive to the oasis Moyat Awad (ancient Moa?). We will walk around the antiquities at the site, looking at the fortified Caravanserai and other remnants of the Nabathean culture. Back in the car, we continue through the impressive Canyon of Nachal Zaáf, climbing steeply to the fortress of Kazra, from which we can enjoy a wide view of the Negev Desert, and more… Through a further series of Canyons we will reach the hidden Nekarot Cistern, where we take a short walk to learn about the Nabathean way to collect water.  A few challenging Jeep-Ascents will lead us into the Ramon Crater, and after taking a look at the last Caravanserai at the Ein Saharonim Oasis, we will drive to our Hotel in the town Mitzpe Ramon.

Day 2:

Today we will spend the whole day in and around "Machtesh Ramon" – a unique geological Phenomenon, only to be found in the Negev Desert. With our 4x4 vehicle we will cross the "Crater" from east to west, taking a look at the "Crater" from a special view-point: The top of the Arod ascent. We will spend the afternoon strolling around the "Lotz Cisterns". Here, except for some special vegetation, usually not common in the desert, we will also see the remnants of a desert-settlement with some sophisticated water-cisterns dating back to the early Israelite period. Over-night like the day before, at the  hotel in Mitzpe Ramon.

Day 3:

We will start the day at Ben-Gurions Tomb, located in a garden of desert-plants, overlooking the Canyon of Zin. David Ben Gurion, Israel's first prime minister, was the person who shaped the state of Israel as we know it today. He was also the man who understood, that without the vision of "making the desert bloom" Israel will not be able to exist. From B.G.'s Tomb we drive down to the Canyon of Nachal Zin and to the Oasis Ein Akev, where we leave the jeep and walk Ca. 10 minutes until we arrive at a natural pool of fresh water, where there is even an opportunity to bath! We continue to Ein Zik, where due to the large amount of water available, we walk in a Jungle-like Landscape. From here we continue off-the-beaten-track across the "Wilderness of Zin" and to Mt. Zin, famous for its "Bulbous", huge balls of natural rock that even Geologists can't explain how they were created. We continue on the highway, along the Dead Sea to Jerusalem
